On October 14, a hundred and sixty excited WomenSing supporters and fans descended on the beautiful Lafayette Events Center for a delightful afternoon at our Annual Salon Concert and Auction. 

They browsed for treasures at the extensive silent auction, sampled delicious appetizers and drink, and enjoyed the vivid colors and vigorous rhythms of Latin American music, wonderfully performed by Quinteto Latino. There was a presentation and special appeal for Youth Inspiring Youth (YIY) and its mission to bring together young poets and composers. Thirty-five donors responded! The results? The Gala raised $30,000 that will be dedicated to musical activities and programs, including $3,650 in CD sponsorships and $7,800 for YIY (a record!).

The Gala is essential to our musical well-being. It provides 24% of our annual budget. WomenSing is grateful to event chair Amy Bruhmuller, the Freedman family auction committee (Andy, Laura, and Ceri), and numerous other volunteers serving on the other auction committees. This amazing team worked very hard to create another memorable event.
