As Spring turns to Summer, WomenSing presents I Am Wild - a concert that invites you to break free from expectations and embrace the untamed spirit within. This powerful program, shaped by the creative vision of WomenSing’s Artistic Director, Ofer dal Lal, explores the primal and awe-inspiring aspects of human nature, evoking a deep connection to the wild beauty of our world.
Picture yourself taking an evening walk with your dog when you suddenly sense two pairs of eyes watching you from the darkness. What creatures might they be? Night Vision by Stephen Chatman captures this moment of fear and curiosity. Fire, by Canadian composer Katerina Gimon, erupts like a swarm of yellow jackets into a fierce and defiant war chant, celebrating the power of the feminine in all its forms. Morten Lauridsen’s beloved Sure On This Shining Night sets James Agee’s luminous poetry to music, expressing awe, gratitude, and the enduring hope found in nature’s beauty—even in challenging times.
This year marks WomenSing’s 60th anniversary, celebrating a rich legacy of artistic excellence and community engagement.
