After reviewing 25 resumes, viewing countless video examples of conducting and concerts from the candidates, and many, many discussions, it is with great enthusiasm that the Artistic Director search committee and the WomenSing Board of Directors have unanimously chosen to name Ofer dal Lal as our new Artistic Director.

A Fond Farewell

We have our long-time friend Jim Pearson to thank for putting WomenSing on Martín's radar 15 years ago. Upon Martín's arrival on the Bay Area musical scene in 2001, Jim was impressed with his qualifications, and was keen on mentioning the opportunity that opened up with WomenSing in mid-2002. The rest, as the saying goes, is history.

The WomenSing Fall Online Auction 2016 is now open. The auction will run from September 22, 2016 to October 1, 2016, with proceeds going to WomenSing in order to support our mission to create a vibrant choral experience that transforms and enlightens both singers and audience through exploration of the traditional and the unexpected in women’s choral literature. Five days before her death in 2014, Maya Angelou tweeted, "listen to yourself, and in that quietude, you might hear the voice of God." Whether it be God, spirit, or merely the beautiful harmony of human voices singing together, Angelou's poem, Still I Rise, seems tailor-made to be a selection in WomenSing's spring program, To Give Voice. Angelou is one of our featured women artists as we celebrate our 50thyear of making music.
